Towai Traders LTD was created in 1997, but started as Towai Transport ltd in 1971 By Fred and Vida Barnes, as a general carrier and contracting business. Later it became Poskin Furs Ltd in 1985 when we went into the possum trade buying, selling, tanning and manufacturing. Exporting (toys and garments)overseas until the mid 90s when animal rights groups destroyed the industry, so we diversified to hides and skins. Also the pick up of cows and calves which we were contracted to Wallace Corperation, soon after which we changed the name to what it is now Towai Traders Ltd.
